Warning Signs:
  • Dramatic weight loss.

  •  Refusal to eat certain foods.

  • Not eating certian food groups  (Ex. Carbohydrates)

  • Often commenting about being "fat", even though weight loss is happening.

  • Paying close attention to calories, or fat grams.

  • Denial of hunger. 

  • Excuses to avoid eating, or mealtimes.

  • Withdrawal from usual friends and habits.

STOP NOW! (This could lead to)
  • Abnormally slow heart rate and low blood pressure.
  •  The risk of heart failure.
  • Osteoporosis (Reduction of bone density).
  • Weakness.
  • Growth of hair called lanugo all over the body, including the face(trys to keep body warm).

Anorexia Nervosa is... A psychophysiological disorder usually occurring in young women that is characterized by an abnormal fear of becoming obese, a distorted self-image, a persistent unwillingness to eat, and severe weight loss. It is often accompanied by self-induced vomiting, excessive exercise, malnutrition, amenorrhea, and other physiological changes
